Multi-cultural Youth Outreach Program

Sunshine Uniting Church has been approved to receive a grant from the Kilmany Trust of the Uniting Church to run a Multi-cultural Youth Program.  The grant is sufficient to employ a part time worker for three years, during which time we hope to establish the ongoing viability of the program. The program will initially centre around indoor recreational activities as a way to contact and engage with local youth.  The Wayside Bargain Centre, located next to the church space, is relocating from July 2017 and it will be converted into the youth centre – actually returning to its original use!   The congregation has access to some Property Sale Proceeds from the sale of the Sunshine Christian School located in Sunshine North which can used for the upgrade.

A Reference Group will have oversight of the program and is being assembled during June 2017.  One of its first tasks will be to finalise the job description of the worker and locate the most suitable person for the task.
